A numerical measurement of how easy a text is to read, calculated using formulas that analyze sentence length, word complexity, and syllable count.
Readability scores use established formulas like Flesch-Kincaid, Gunning Fog, Coleman-Liau, and SMOG to estimate the education level required to understand a text. These formulas consider factors like average sentence length, average syllables per word, and word frequency. A Flesch Reading Ease score of 60-70 is considered optimal for general audiences. SynthRead combines multiple formulas into a single grade (A-E) with a population reach percentage.
